Basic Characters

A character is a made-up creature with quirky features and a memorable personality. A character can be cute, sassy, silly, or just plain evil. It can be an animal, vegetable, alien, or the lady next door. Give your character huge eyes, pointy ears, or a funny color. Make it by hand or build it on the computer. Draw your character on notebooks, T-shirts, tote bags, or pencil boxes. Make one great character, or build a whole army!

1. Make a head. Draw it by hand or on the computer, or use office dots, foam pieces, tape, or cut paper.

2. Add eyes and mouth. You can do it with just a hint: a moustache or a beak makes a mouth, and two circles or slits become eyes.

3. Name your character.
